Slipping Into This Trend

As it is now finals season on university campuses across the world, there has been much less fashion and much more function. I must admit, I have been taking to the athleisure trend quite frequently (if not simply to have an excuse to wear sneakers everywhere). Due to this I have been getting dressed less frequently and wearing more casual clothing (not so blog-worthy). Fortunately, we had one last formal to end the year and I had my last opportunity to dress up; that is, until “summer” in a few weeks. SO, I decided to jump on board the slip dress trend, even though that has been on my radar for a while now. I ended up ordering the most gorgeous black number off ASOS.com after considering alternatives from free people and others. The cost and the overall look of this dress just spoke to me.

Fortunately, I was able to snag it for under $35 Canadian but I don’t think it is available anymore. Paired with delicate heels, I loved how it was perfect for the night: banquet formal to drinks and dancing after. It incorporates the ever-so-chic and comfortable pyjama/nightwear trend with a simple, minimalist feel.
